The 29-year-old model is constantly taking big swings with nail art and ushering in new trends, but even the most dedicated among us have a basic, go-to look to fall back on when we’re out of fresh ideas and just want something tried and true. For me, it’s an elegant tortoise shell manicure, while Hailey Bieber knows there’s nothing a bit of chrome powder finish can’t fix.
After embracing multiple takes on the cat-eye nail trend and adding an animalistic edge to her mani-pedi rotation, Bieber has returned to the signature glazed manicure she wears between bold moves. But even though she’s opting for her version of an everyday set, she gave the look a bit of springtime refresh in the middle of this nation-wide cold front.
On January 28, Bieber’s longtime nail artist Zola Ganzorigt shared one of the model’s recent mirror selfies featuring a fresh, light pink set with a subtle chrome powder finish, aptly referring to the look as a “soft pink glaze.”
While meteorologists are able to predict turns in the weather, Hailey Bieber is remarkably attune to current and future nail trends. Her latest set seems like a strong indicator that minimalism will continue to persevere throughout the next few months. And it’s not just her pinky-nude base that speaks to these understated nail trends, but her nail’s mid-length almond shape. Bieber seems to have gone even shorter than usual, with the tips of her nails extending only slightly past her fingers.
Even so, the opaque shade of pink is a subtle departure from the milky, translucent nail looks that have dominated the trend cycle for the past few months. Of course, the chrome finish gives the pastel pink a frosty sheen that feels perfect for the current and future forecasts.
