Youth are being radicalized in a week through 6 factor propaganda
- Fear about violence ends- Extremists present the ideology as ‘cool’ or modern. Violent incidents are turned into funny memes, thereby eliminating the fear of violence in the minds of youth.
- Use of gaming platform- Make friends with teens who feel isolated on gaming platforms like Discord, Twitch, Roblox, and Fortnite and gain their trust within days or hours.
- Gamification- Terrorism is being presented like a game. Scoreboards are created in online groups for the kill count (number of deaths), which inspires youth to commit violence.
- Funnel Strategy- Radical networks first identify youth on social media and then lure them into encrypted chat rooms such as Telegram or Signal. Here they are brainwashed.
- Sensitivity of teenagers- The part of the adolescent brain responsible for impulse control does not develop. Influenced by propaganda, they take violent steps without thinking.
- New method of recruitment- Now there is no need for a big leader for recruitment. The youth themselves are radicalizing their peers on online platforms.
