World Updates: Conflict again in Afghanistan-Pakistan, 1 dead, 12 injured

The Afghan government has alleged that Pakistan’s army on Sunday shelled the outskirts of Asadabad city in the country’s Kunar province, killing one person and injuring more than 12 people. The conflict between the two countries has increased since February. This is considered to be the most serious conflict between Afghanistan and Pakistan in the last several decades. Pakistan alleges that Afghanistan is giving shelter to terrorists on its soil, who carry out attacks inside Pakistan. Special mention is made of Pakistan Taliban (TTP). The group is separate from the Afghan Taliban, but the two are considered to have close ties. The Afghan Taliban took power in 2021 during the withdrawal of US-led forces. However, Kabul has been continuously rejecting these allegations. Earlier this month, Afghanistan claimed that a Pakistan airstrike targeted a drug de-addiction hospital in Kabul, killing more than 400 people. Pakistan has rejected this claim and said that it did not target any civilian, but attacked an arms warehouse.
