Before the arrest, a meeting was held under the chairmanship of PM Balen.

According to the report, despite prior warning (intelligence), the authorities did not take appropriate steps, due to which the situation worsened and many people lost their lives.
The decision to implement this report was taken in the cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Balen Shah before the arrest. Only after this the police took this big step.
During the arrest, security was tightened in the Kathmandu Valley and several police teams were deployed.

Protesters had set Prime Minister Oli’s house on fire on September 9.

As the situation worsened, curfew was imposed in many cities including Kathmandu, Parliament came to a standstill and Prime Minister Oli had to resign. After the resignation, Oli was taken to a safe place. At the same time, angry Gen-Z beat up many ministers including the former PM.

The police opened fire to stop the violence in which more than 70 people died.
