Trump said – this amount is very small compared to the expenditure on war

Trump said that this amount is very small compared to the expenditure on war. He told the member countries that if all countries come together then lasting peace can be brought to the region, which has suffered war and violence for centuries.

Trump said every dollar spent on Gaza is an investment in stabilizing the region and building a better future. However, he did not clarify how many troops would be sent, when they would be deployed and how the given amount would be used.

Trump’s Board of Peace will monitor UN

5 countries have agreed to deploy troops in the war-ravaged Palestinian area. Trump also made it clear that this board will now play a role in resolving conflicts around the world.

Trump said, the board will monitor the United Nations (UN) and ensure that it is functioning properly. At the same time, just before the first meeting of the ‘Board of Peace’, a meeting of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) was held. It criticized Israel’s efforts to increase control in the West Bank.

Pakistan PM Shahbaz Sharif attended

Most countries including India sent senior officials to the meeting. Pakistan’s PM Shahbaz Sharif, Indonesia’s President Prabowo Subianto, Argentina’s President Javier Miley and Hungary’s Prime Minister Viktor Orbán themselves arrived.

Germany, Italy, Norway, Switzerland and Britain are among the countries that have not joined the board, but participated as observers. Trump claimed, ‘Everyone has accepted the resolution on Gaza and those who have not accepted it will also soon accept it.’

The focus of the discussion at the meeting was the creation of an armed International Stabilization Force, whose task would be to maintain security and disarm Hamas. This is the main demand of Israel and also an important part of the ceasefire deal. However, Hamas has not yet given much assurance regarding disarmament.

Hamas said – As long as the Israeli army is here, it will not give up its weapons.

On the other hand, Hamas has said that it will not lay down its arms until the Israeli army completely withdraws. Recently, Hamas leader Osama Hamdan said in an interview to Al Jazeera that the organization has not yet taken any formal decision on weapons.

At the same time, Israel says that the army will not withdraw from Gaza until Hamas completely gives up its weapons. Israel has given Hamas 60 days to completely give up its weapons.

Trump’s son-in-law and negotiator Jared Kushner had presented in Davos a plan to build six new cities in the southern part of Gaza and build a tourism project on the seashore. However, the funding and deadline for this have not been decided yet.

What is Board of Peace?

Trump first proposed this board in September last year while presenting a plan to end the Gaza war by 2025. According to Reuters, America has invited about 60 countries to join this board.

In the invitation sent to the world leaders, it was told that the role of this board will not be limited only to Gaza, but it will also work in resolving conflicts at the global level.

In a draft (charter) sent, it has been said that the countries who want to become members of this board for more than three years will have to contribute 1 billion dollars.

Trump himself is the chairman of this board

Trump himself is the chairman of this board. They want that this board should not be limited only to the ceasefire in Gaza, but should also work on other issues. However, some countries are worried that this could weaken the role of the UN in global diplomacy.

Trump said that when this board is fully formed, then it will be able to take major decisions and whatever work is done will be done with the cooperation of the UN. He also said that the UN has a lot of potential, but it has not been fully utilized yet.

Of the five permanent members of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), no country other than America has yet confirmed its membership in this board.

Trump gave 10 days ultimatum to Iran in the meeting

Major General Jasper Jeffers, head of the International Stabilization Force, said Gaza would need 12,000 police and 20,000 troops under the plan.

During the meeting, President Trump took a very tough stance regarding Iran’s nuclear program and gave a ’10 day ultimatum’. Trump said that in the next 10 days it will become clear whether there will be an agreement with Iran or America will have to choose the path of military action.

Trump said that it has not been easy to reach an agreement with Iran, but if an agreement is not reached this time, we may have to take a step forward (toward military action).
