Iran has rejected US President Donald Trump’s ultimatum to open Hormuz within 48 hours. The Iranian Army has said that America is making threats out of helplessness and panic. General Ali Abdollahi Aliabadi, head of Iran’s central military headquarters Khatam al-Anbiya, called Trump’s warning a foolish action and rejected it outright. Iran warned the US that such threats meant “the doors of hell will be opened for you too.” Earlier, Trump had given Iran an ultimatum to open the Strait of Hormuz in 48 hours or reach a compromise. He had said that time was running out and if this did not happen, Iran’s energy bases would be targeted and destroyed. Trump has so far given ultimatum to Iran thrice to open Hormuz, due to which the tension on this issue is continuously increasing. Iran said – Bushehr nuclear site was attacked 4 times. Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has said that America and Israel have attacked Bushehr nuclear site four times. He said that these attacks pose a serious threat not only to Iran but to the entire Gulf region. Araghchi posted on social media platform X that attacks near nuclear sites are extremely risky. He said that the concern shown at the international level regarding Ukraine’s Zaporizhia Nuclear Plant is not the same sensitivity seen in the case of Bushehr. Araghchi also said that the attacks on petrochemical targets are an indication that strategic structures are being targeted.
