The Chicago Bears are learning that when you’re a good team, other teams are going to take interest in your coaches and front office staff, and that’s exactly what’s happened this offseason. The Baltimore Ravens hired Bears offensive coordinator Declan Doyle to serve the same role, albeit with play calling duties.
The Bears hired Doyle as the youngest offensive coordinator in the NFL, where he was 28 years old at the time, to help lead the offense alongside Johnson. While Doyle didn’t call plays, he played a key role in the implementation of the offense and game plans throughout the season, as well as the development of quarterback Caleb Williams. Now, Doyle will work with two-time MVP Lamar Jackson in Baltimore.

Doyle is the third coach/front office member to be hired away this offseason joining Ian Cunningham (who was hired as general manager by the Atlanta Falcons) and Eric Bieniemy (hired as offensive coordinator by the Kansas City Chiefs). It just goes to show how much the rest of the NFL respects what the Bears accomplished in 2025 and the group that Ben Johnson has assembled.
There was plenty of reaction to the news, including Bears fans wishing Doyle the best (while also hating to lose him) and Ravens fans excited for the staff that new head coach Jesse Minter is building in Baltimore.
