Trump asked Pakistan PM Shahbaz Sharif to stand up and listen to him and Sharif stood up. This incident happened on Thursday.
The meeting between Pakistani PM Shahbaz Sharif and Trump remains a topic of discussion on social media. Actually, Shahbaz had come to attend the Board of Peace Summit. But he did not get much attention there. They are also being made fun of for this.
In the first meeting regarding Gaza, Shahbaz appeared in the back row and isolated. There came a moment when Trump gestured to Shahbaz while giving a speech and he immediately stood up from his seat.
Trump said from the stage- ‘Pakistan and India… this was a big matter. You should stand up, please stand up for a moment. On hearing this, Sharif immediately stood up.
During this, Shahbaz looked very uncomfortable. On social media, it was called ‘school assembly moment’ i.e. when the teacher asks to stand up and the student immediately stands up.
In another viral video, Shehbaz is also seen trying to hug Trump. VIDEO of this incident
Shahbaz’s tour starts with ‘mess’
The first meeting of the Board of Peace was held on Thursday in the US capital Washington DC. Officials from about 40 countries participated in it. India also participated in it as an observer.
Sharif’s visit to America started with controversies. There were several typos in the statement of the Pakistan Foreign Ministry, such as ‘United States of America’ was written instead of ‘United States’ in the official press release of the Foreign Ministry.
The screenshots went viral on social media and people started raising questions on the government level proofreading. Last year, while condemning Israel’s attack on Iran, Sharif had written ‘I condom’ instead of ‘I condemn’, which was then trolled a lot.
Pakistani PM was seen at the back
Even after reaching Washington, the situation was not easy. Sharif was barely visible in the group photo. Trump stood in the front row, joined by Vice President J.D. Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio. The leaders of Saudi Arabia, Indonesia and Qatar were standing right behind him, while Sharif was seen in the background.
During the speech, Trump asked Sharif to stand up. Sharif immediately stood up, which was ridiculed on social media and some people called him ‘Trump’s puppet’. Meanwhile, Trump described Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a ‘great person’ and a ‘very good friend’, which made Sharif look more uncomfortable.

The Board of Peace meeting was held on Thursday, in which leaders from all over the world were seen on one stage along with US President Trump. Shahbaz Sharif is third from the right in the back row.
Shahbaz was seen flattering Trump In his speech, Sharif addressed Trump as ‘Man of Peace’ and described him as the true savior of South Asia. During this, Shahbaz Sharif also gave credit to Trump for the ceasefire between India and Pakistan after the military confrontation in May. However, despite so much praise, it did not make much difference to Trump.
Addressing Trump, Sharif said, “Your timely and effective intervention to establish a ceasefire between India and Pakistan probably saved the lives of 25 million people. You have truly proved to be a man of peace. I want to say that you are truly the Messiah of South Asia. Gaza will be your legacy.”
