Karnail Singh, husband of Punjabi woman Sarabjit, who went to Pakistan on the pretext of visiting a Sikh group and married a Muslim man, has reached the Lahore High Court. Not only this, the husband said that Sarabjit not only violated the visa rules of pilgrimage but also broke the Foreigners Act and Islamic law. She said that Nasir Hussain’s physical relationship with Sarabjit without divorce is illegal and an FIR should be lodged against him for rape. The husband also termed her conversion to Islam as forced conversion because the procedure under Sharia law was not followed.
Sarabjit had gone to Pakistan with a group of Sikh devotees. There suddenly she disappeared. After this he allegedly converted to Islam and changed his name to Noor Hussain. After this she married Nasir Hussain. Sarabjit had claimed that they had a love affair for 8 years. They were connected to each other online. She came to Pakistan on her own will and is happy to marry Nasir.

- Came to Pakistan on trip, got married here: Sarabjit Kaur’s husband Karnail Singh’s lawyer Ali Changeji Sandhu said- Sarabjit had come to Pakistan from India. He got married in Pakistan. After this, Sarabjit’s Indian husband has filed a petition in the Lahore High Court through her.
- Didn’t apply for divorce, not even proof: Lawyer Ali Changenji said- Sarabjit Kaur was already married. She has not yet applied for divorce under the Marriage Act in India. Even in Pakistan, she did not present any legal evidence which could prove that her marital relationship with Karnail Singh had ended. Therefore they should be sent back to India.
- Blackmailed Sarabjit, got money from Dubai: Advocate Changezi said- The issue of forced religious conversion has also been raised in the petition. According to the lawyer, Nasir Hussain made objectionable pictures and videos of him. On the basis of which Sarabjit was blackmailed. After this a demand for money was made from Karnail Singh. Sarabjit sent the money through Dubai so that his video would not be leaked. All these facts have been included in the petition.
- Called her husband and said – misbehavior is happening: Advocate Changezi said that it is also alleged in the petition that even after marriage in Pakistan, Sarabjit Kaur called Karnail Singh. In which he said that he was being mistreated in Pakistan. She wants to come back to India. A call recording in this regard has also been attached with the petition as evidence.

- According to Constitution-Sharia Court, Nikah is illegal: The lawyer said- In this petition, a demand has been made to declare Sarabjit’s marriage with Pakistani man Nasir Hussain as illegal. It argues that Noor Hussain did not follow the legal procedure prescribed by the Federal Shariat Court and constitutional courts for a married non-Muslim woman.
- Husband said- Our marriage is still valid: Sarabjit’s husband said in the petition – Our marriage is still valid. Sarabjit has not legally divorced me. He has violated Islamic law, the Foreigners Act 1946, and pilgrimage visa rules. In such a situation, he should be expelled from Pakistan.
- Keep in shelter home, talk about getting permission: Husband Karnail Singh said- Sarabjit Kaur should be kept in the Women Shelter Home till the disposal of this petition. The sons and husband i.e. the petitioner should get permission to talk to Sarabjit on phone. In this case, the call recording related to Sarabjit should also be forensically investigated. Naseer Hussain shared Sarabjit’s nude photos and videos with relatives. This should also be investigated.
- Relationship without divorce should be illegal, rape action: It has been alleged in the petition that having physical relations with someone despite not having a divorce from the previous marriage is considered Jinnah. Jinah refers to illicit sexual relations, which are considered a sin or crime under Sharia law. Therefore the husband demanded that action should be taken against Nasir Hussain under the charges of Jinnah also. Action should be taken against him under rape. Sarabjit should be immediately separated from him and sent back to India.
