American space agency NASA’s moon mission Artemis II may be postponed. This mission was to be launched on 6 March. Even before that, a problem surfaced in the helium flow of the rocket. The space agency said that the flow of helium stopped in the upper stage of the rocket last night. Launch requires solid helium flow. NASA said it is reviewing all the data and if necessary, the rocket will be moved from the launch pad at Florida’s Kennedy Space Center to a hangar. However, engineers will try to fix the problem on the launch pad itself. The space agency said that engineers are preparing for both options. However, this will definitely affect the launching. Astronauts will not step on the Moon during the Artemis II Moon mission. This is a flyby mission under which the astronauts will return only after circling the moon. This will be the first time in the last 50 years that humans will go into the moon’s orbit. If this mission is successful, Artemis-3 mission will be sent in 2028, in which the astronauts will set foot on the moon. NASA is going to send astronauts to the moon after 50 years. Under the Artemis-2 mission, four astronauts will revolve around the moon and return to Earth. For the first time, this crew will also include a woman and an African-American (black) astronaut. Christina Hammock Koch has been selected as the expert for this 10-day moon mission. Before this, Christina had made the record of staying in space for the longest time. Apart from him, Victor Glover of the US Navy has also been selected as a pilot. He will be the first black astronaut to go to space on a moon mission. Target to travel 22 lakh kilometers: Artemis-2 will travel about 22 lakh kilometers during the mission. Its purpose is to check that all life-support systems of the Orion spacecraft have been properly designed. So that astronauts do not face any problem during going into deep space and moon landing in 2028. Artemis II will fly some 10,300 kilometers to the far side of the moon before returning. NASA launched Artemis-1 mission in the third attempt on November 15, 2022. It returned to Earth on December 10 after completing a journey of 14 lakh miles after 25 days. Before this, only the Apollo-17 mission had reached this close to the Moon in December 1972. Artemis is different from the 50-year-old Apollo mission. The last and 17th flight of the Apollo mission flew in 1972. This mission was conceived by former US President JF Kennedy to defeat the Soviet Union. His goal was to establish America at first place in the world in the field of science and technology. However, after about 50 years the atmosphere is different. Now America does not want to defeat Russia or China through Artemis mission. NASA’s aim is to thoroughly explore things located outside the Earth. Scientists want to go to the Moon and try to make fuel, food and buildings from the ice and soil there. ——————– Also read this news… NASA admitted that Sunita Williams being trapped in space was dangerous: It was considered similar to the accident that happened with Kalpana Chawla.
