American sex criminal Jeffrey Epstein’s private plane ‘Lolita Express’ is now standing in a dilapidated condition in an aircraft yard in South America. This nearly six decade old Boeing 727 will never fly again.
Nearly 60 years old and 133 feet long, the Lolita Express was once known for its expensive furnishings and private cabins. Now there is a layer of rust and dirt on its outer surface. The engines were removed years ago, leaving it permanently grounded.
According to the prosecution, this plane was used to take minor girls to New York and Florida. Victims gave statements that exploitation also occurred during flights.
Virginia Giuffre, a survivor, also claimed that she was sexually assaulted on the plane. According to the report, flight manuals, files, napkins and placemats with numbers printed on them are still inside the plane. Toiletry items and personal belongings are lying in the bathroom cabinet.
The main sleeping area still has a mattress, with emergency oxygen masks hanging above it. The red-upholstered seating lounges are now covered in dust.
According to records, a company linked to Epstein had purchased this plane in 2001. The ownership changed hands just before his arrest on federal sex-trafficking charges in 2019. After this it was transferred through many aviation companies.
Although there were earlier plans to scrap it, it has not been completely dismantled yet. The plane was nicknamed the ‘Lolita Express’ because of allegations that it smuggled underage girls. The name is taken from the 1955 adult novel ‘Lolita’, which tells the story of a middle-aged man’s infatuation with a 12-year-old girl.
