In this, Carney said that America has made a major change in trade policy and has increased tariffs to levels like the Great Depression. He warned that the world has become more dangerous and divided than ever, so Canada will have to change its policies. He said that relations with America will no longer be the same as before, hence it is important to get out of this confusion. Canada needs to increase trade with new countries. In this direction, negotiations on CEPA trade agreement with India are progressing. He met PM Modi in March and the deal is expected to be completed by the end of this year.
