Sumo, an Indian tourist and travel vlogger, faced racist comments in Ao Nang city of Thailand. He has shared a video, in which the female staff of a restaurant is seen telling him “India very bad”. According to the vlogger, this incident happened when he had gone for breakfast. There was a slight disturbance in the bill, after which a woman was called for translation. As soon as he revealed his nationality as India, the atmosphere changed and he was accused of not wanting to pay Indian money. After this the Indian tourist called the police. When the police arrived, the restaurant manager apologized. Vlogger said – This is the first time such behavior has happened in Thailand. Vlogger Sumo said that the dispute was not about money, because the amount was only 120 Thai Baht i.e. about 349 rupees. The vlogger said in the video that this was the first time he faced such behavior in Thailand. The video went viral on social media. The vlogger then released another video to provide context. In this he said that many people assume that in such a situation it is the tourist’s fault, but this time it was not so. The vlogger said that he felt it was better to call the tourist police instead of arguing. The police understood what they said and the restaurant manager apologized to them. Talking about this incident, he said that it is wrong to have uniform thinking about any community. Even in India, people have some misconceptions in their minds, but it does not mean that such thinking is correct. People supported the vlogger on social media.
