World Updates: Explosive attack on bus in Colombia, 13 killed and 38 injured

A bus in Colombia was targeted with an explosive device. The incident occurred on the PanAmerican Highway in Cahibío. 13 people died and about 38 people were injured in the blast. Five children are also among the injured. According to officials, explosives were already planted near the bus, which exploded while passing. The army has described it as a terrorist attack and the suspicion is on armed groups involved in drug smuggling. There have been 26 attacks in this area in the last two days. These include incidents of firing at the police station, attack on the radar center and recovery of drones equipped with explosives. The south-western areas of Colombia are considered areas affected by drug trafficking. Here many illegal armed groups are struggling to control the sea and river routes. The government has spoken of strict action to arrest the culprits and has announced a huge reward for providing information.
