Iran has said that it has complete control over the Strait of Hormuz. Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf said that any mine-clearing in Hormuz would be considered a violation of the ceasefire and would be responded to. Ghalibaf described the US blockade of Iranian ports as a careless and wrong decision and said that if Iran itself cannot pass through this route, then other countries will also not be allowed to do so. Iran made it clear that it does not trust America and the situation can worsen at any time, hence its army is fully prepared. Ghalibaf said that Iran is ready to move forward on the path of diplomacy, but this is not weakness. He said that some progress has been made in the talks between the US and Iran, but many important issues are still unresolved and the final agreement is still far away. According to Ghalibaf, any deal will be implemented on a phased and reciprocal basis. He also claimed that even though America has resources and weapons, it is strategically weak in front of Iran.
