Trump dismissed the Navy Chief after the Army: Amidst the Iran war, nuclear department officials were also suspended, trapped in honey trap.

In America, major decisions are continuously being taken within the Defense Ministry (Pentagon). President Donald Trump first removed the Army Chief and now Navy Chief John Phelan has also been dismissed from the post. Along with this, Andrew Hugh, a senior officer associated with the Nuclear Department, has been suspended for leaking sensitive information, who was allegedly caught in the honey trap. This entire incident has come to light at a time when military tension between America and Iran is at its peak. The US Navy is active in the Persian Gulf and meanwhile, continuous changes are taking place at the top level. The Pentagon issued a short statement informing about the inability to coordinate with the Defense Minister, but no clear reason was given for the removal. However, according to sources, there were continuous differences between Phelan and the top leadership of the Pentagon for the last few months. There was increasing conflict between him and Defense Minister Pete Hegseth, especially over the Navy’s shipbuilding program, working methods and leadership. In fact, America wants to rapidly build new warships, submarines and support ships to strengthen its navy. To this end, large-scale shipbuilding reforms were initiated, such as speeding up the design of new ships, modernizing the construction process and improving coordination with private shipyards. There were many problems in these plans. There were delays in the construction of ships, many projects were running far behind schedule. The cost was also continuously increasing, meaning more was being spent than the budget. Hegseth believed that Phelan was too slow to implement necessary military reforms. Phelan’s direct contact with President Donald Trump also caused controversy. In fact, Phelan was contacting President Donald Trump directly, whereas this is not usually done. There is a fixed command chain in the American Army. That is, decisions and information go from bottom to top in a fixed order. Like Navy officers first report to their seniors, then through the Defense Ministry the matter reaches the President. But the allegation was that Phelan ignored this fixed arrangement and spoke directly to the President or put forward his issues. This angered Hegseth. Randy George – US Army Chief of Staff General Randy George, who was forced out a year ahead of schedule, was removed on April 2. Randy’s term was scheduled to expire in 2027. After his departure, Vice Chief of Staff General Christopher La Neve will take over the responsibility of acting Army Chief. La Neve had previously been an assistant to Hegseth. No official reason has been given in this entire matter. The Pentagon simply said he was retiring and thanked him for his service. However, the indications suggest that this decision is not due to any personal mistake but is a part of the change taking place at a larger level. Defense Minister Pete Hegseth has removed or replaced several senior military officials since taking up his post. That means a new team is being formed at the top level of the army. Another thing is that Randy George was appointed during the previous government. The new government often wants to bring in people it trusts, so old officials are removed. Former President Joe Biden nominated Randy George for the post of Army Chief and the Senate approved his appointment in 2023. Andrew Hug’s video went viral, removed. Meanwhile, the case of Andrew Hug, an officer associated with the Nuclear Department, has also come to light. Recently an alleged video of him went viral on social media in which he was giving sensitive information to a woman in a restaurant. The video claims to mention issues related to America’s nuclear and chemical security. It was also claimed that the US still possessed nerve agents and that a US Army chemist died from exposure to them. Andrew Hugh’s viral video… also mentions American plans regarding Iran, but these claims have not been officially confirmed. Hughes was the ‘Chief of Chemical Nuclear Security’ and was responsible for nuclear and chemical safety. After the video surfaced, he has been sent on administrative leave until the investigation is completed. Apart from this, senior officers like General David Hodney and William Green Jr. have also been removed.
